Arkansas has a major forest-products economy, particularly in the timber-producing regions of the state, alongside construction suppliers and specialty wood businesses.

The Arkansas Forestry Division reports more than 18.8 million acres of forest and maintains statewide forestry programs. Buyers may encounter primary mills, secondary manufacturers, small sawyers, and retail yards with very different offerings.
